30 Day Challenge

I have decided to change my eating habits to Paleo, and will take my family (which includes my husband, 6 year old girl, 2 year old boy, and 9 month old girl) along for the ride.  There is tons of info out there on why the Paleo diet is good for you, so I won't go into it here, but check out the sidebar for some links to useful websites and blogs.

For me and my family I don't belive that being 100% strict Paleo is sustainable as a lifestyle.  However, in order to jump start the process I'm going to commit to 30 days of 100% Paleo.  That means eliminating grains, processed foods, and dairy.  After the 30 day "clense" period, I'll be a little more lenient with my diet, most likely adding back in some dairy and limited amounts of grains.  I also will not force my diet on others and will eat what is served when I'm at someone else's house and they have graciously cooked for me and my family.

I plan to use the 30 day meal plan outlined in the book Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fragoso.

I am curious to see if I really do feel as good and have as much energy as everyone says I will after eating Paleo.  Honestly, I'm doubtful at best.  I am also skeptical that I'll lose a lot of weight during the 30 days, but again, we'll see.

I've made my grocery list and plan to head out tomorrow to Costco and the grocery store to get the food supplies.  Tomorrow, I also plan to clean out the cabinets and refrierator and get rid of the non-Paleo food that might be tempting me away from my goal.

Out of respect for Sarah Fragoso, the author of Everyday Paleo, I won't post my grocery lists or her recipes here as they're written - go get the book!  It's awesome and motivating.  I'll post any recipes that I make up on my own, as well as Paleo modifications to non-Paleo recipes.  She makes the 30 day diet so easy by creating weekly grocery lists that go with the suggested recipe list for the week.  I'm so excited to try some of the recipes, they look dee-lish.

Wish me luck!
